the way I see it…
Over the past few weeks I have started a series at Bethel looking at the very issue of how we see things. No matter who we are, or what education we have, we all have a line of sight, that determines how we view something. Our response to any situation is determined by how we view the situation. Our history and where we have been, our experience and who we have built relationships with along with much more plays a vital role in how we respond. If the situation is something that reminds us of a moment in history that was negative, we respond accordingly, often times in order to protect ourselves, or not allow someone to see how we really feel. Fear of being hurt again, is something many people live with, and therefore guard against. I say all that to wonder if perhaps we get caught responding to God the same way…. Someone hurt us in the past, so when God asks us to do something that reminds us of our past, we instantly say No… instead of allowing Him to lead us and walk with us.
What’s amazing about the grace and love of God is that even in our short sitednesslong and view that is distorted He can still work His plan in our lives if we will allow Him.
